1. What this license covers
This license applies to photos, illustrations, vectors, and 3D stills published in theiStockVisual.com library (“Library Content”), including files you download from a detail page and recognizable derivatives you make with the on-page editor or the studio tools. Most Library Content is generated or prepared for this site. It is not public domain. Downloading a file does not transfer copyright to you.
512 and 1K (1024 long edge) are free. 2K,4K, and 8K need an active Pro plan or pass. The same license applies to every size and to JPG, PNG, WEBP, and SVG. A larger file does not buy a broader license — only more pixels.
2. What you may do
Subject to this license and our Terms of Use, you may:
- Use Library Content in personal and commercial projects: websites, ads, social posts, decks, packaging, editorial layouts, and print
- Edit, crop, color-grade, remove background, expand, convert format, vectorize, resize for social frames, watermark, or composite with your own work
- Use Library Content in client work, provided the client also follows this license
- Keep files you already downloaded if a plan later ends, still subject to this license
3. Attribution
You must credit the source whenever Library Content is used in a context where a credit can reasonably appear (websites, videos, print, apps, and similar). Use wording equivalent to:
Generated by iStockVisual.com
A link to the image’s public page (or to iStockVisual.com) is preferred when the medium allows it. Each asset page includes copy-ready credit. Do not strip a required credit from an unmodified library file you pass along as part of a larger work.
If a layout has no room for a visible credit (for example a small app icon), put the same wording in an about, credits, or description field that users can open.
4. What you may not do
- Sell, license, or redistribute the original or lightly modified file as a standalone stock asset, prompt pack, or competing library item
- Claim exclusive ownership of unmodified Library Content, or register it as your trademark or copyright
- Use Library Content to imply that iStockVisual endorses a person, product, or cause
- Use Library Content in unlawful, deceptive, or hateful material
- Scrape, bulk-harvest, or automate downloads beyond ordinary personal or studio use, including after the HD fair-use cap in the Terms
- Share Pro login details so others can download HD files on your account
5. Browser tools and your own files
Image Editor, Convert, Vectorizer, Social Resizer, Batch Watermark, and Palette Generator run in your browser. Files you choose on your device for those tools are not uploaded to iStockVisual and remain yours. If you start from Library Content, this license and the attribution requirement still apply to that content and to recognizable derivatives of it.
On-page editor exports from library files follow the same size rules as downloads: free users stay on 512 / 1K; Pro may export larger tiers. Expand on library assets is a Pro feature.
Visual search may upload a query photo so we can match the library. That upload is handled under the Privacy Policy and is not added to the public library.
6. Trademarks, people, and generated scenes
Library Content is produced for general creative use. Scenes may be generated or stylized. You are responsible for extra clearance your project needs — for example real trademarks, logos, or identifiable people that you add, or regulated claims you make next to an image. Do not treat a generated interior, product, or skyline as a photo of a specific real property or brand unless you have independently verified that.
7. Fair use, refunds, and changes
HD speed limits do not change this license. Refunds are in theRefund Policy. We may update this license; the version on this page applies to new downloads from the date it is posted. Files you already downloaded remain usable under the license that applied when you downloaded them, unless we must restrict use to comply with law.
